Ethos and Beacon Team
At Christ Church we encourage all children to make a difference and be 'Beacons of Light' in the community.
Each year the class nominate children to be part of our Beacon and Ethos team.
The Ethos group meet every Tuesday lunchtime. They are a dedicated group of pupils who endeavour to maintain our Church school ethos and ensure our vision is adhered to. They carry out various tasks, such as school learning walks, helping with Collective Worship, plan 'Values Days', deliver lessons to class and more recently they have been creating and setting up 'Prayer Spaces' in the practical room. They invite other children to take part in Prayer Space activities and support them.
" I like teaching other people about Christian Values and how to show them in different ways." Gracie
The Beacons are our school council. During the school year two children from each class represent their class. The Beacons do numerous activities such as raising money for charities and helping put forward important ideas and changes in school.
So far this year the Beacons have started their healthy eating campaign. They have been working hard, spreading the message of why we should have healthy snacks. The children have hosted their own assembly; leading a fitness video. They have also conducted a healthy eating poster competition for all of the school.
The children have got more events which will be happening in the coming months!
"It is really fun organising things to help others and I love keeping fit too." Bella
We also have Year 6 children who take responsibilities in being Head Boy or Girl, Prefects, Road Safety Officers, Librarians and Sport Champions.
