Our Governors

Stef Boyle – Chair of Governors (currently on Maternity Leave)

Foundation Governor, Chair of Governors,  and a member of the Resources Sub-Committee and Welfare Sub-Committee -  currently on maternity leave. I originally put myself forward as a governor because I wanted to be involved in the life and community of the school and I hoped that my experience and skills could be useful.I’m a youth worker for a small Christian charity in town called ‘Port Reach’, where we specialise in mentoring, adult literacy and personal development. In the past I was a board member of a local Women’s Aid for 4 years and their treasurer for 2 years.

Acting Chair of Governors and LA governor

Link Governor for Finance and Health and Safety

My name is Elaine Davies.

I have been an LA governor at Christ Church for the last 4 years.  I am Chair of the Resources Committee and for this year will be acting up to the role of Chair of Governors whilst the current Chair, Mrs. Boyle has some time off for maternity leave.

My background is mainly education and the finance of educational services to schools, colleges and external providers of training and education.

I recently took early retirement from my role of School Governance Manager after working for 18 years for formerly Cheshire West and Chester LA and latterly Edsential, an education facing Community Interest Company based in Ellesmere Port.

I wanted to become a governor at Christ Church, as I wanted to support a school in the local community and am committed to helping the school to perform to its highest potential.  As governors at the school, we all want your children to have the best educational experience they can have here at Christ Church Primary.

Judith Derby – Foundation governor

Link Governor for EYFS

My name is Judith Derby and I have been a governor at Christ Church School for well over 15 years, having served on various committees as well as being both Chair and Vice Chair of Governors at different times.

I worship regularly in our parish at St. Lawrence Church in Stoak.

I have  considerable experience in teaching all age ranges in primary schools, including those with special educational needs, and also have lectured undergraduate trainee teachers in a College of Higher Education. Currently, I teach young children who are at an early stage of learning to read in a local primary school for three mornings each week.

I am the chair of the Standards and Curriculum subcommittee and a link governor for EYFS . I have had the opportunity of meeting and talking with many of these children in school. I am supportive of the school and, as a critical friend, regularly question and challenge its work.

This is a really exciting time for Christ Church School and I can genuinely say that it is a real privilege to be involved in the work of the school at this time.

Ex-officio Church Foundation Governor

Link Governor for Pupil Premium, Behaviour and Attitudes and SIAMS

My name is Gill Foster and I am an ex-officio Foundation Governor at Christ Church School by virtue of me being the Associate Rector at St Thomas and All Saints Church which of course is the church to which our school is linked.  This is my first time of serving on a governing body of a school even though I have four children; school governance did not cross my path whilst they were at school and so I was completely unaware of the level of involvement that a school governor holds in being a 'critical friend' to the school.   We have the privilege and responsibility of ensuring that every child coming into Christ Church School receives the best education and care relevant to each individual child in order for them to develop and grow to their full potential.  At present I am the link governor for our pupil premium children, Behaviour and Attitudes and SIAMS.  I try to be involved in the daily life of the school ensuring that the children and parents get to know me whether in my role as associate rector or governor which hopefully helps build the important link between church and school.

Mrs Susan Johnson – Foundation Governor

Link Governor for Quality of Education

My name is Sue Johnson and I am a regular worshipper at St. Thomas and All Saints church and love being part of the church community.  I am a retired teacher and taught in primary schools for 20 years before moving into further education to teach maths.  I have 3 grandchildren ranging in age from 4 to 19, and my eldest grandson attended Christchurch School.  I chose to be a governor at the school because of my links to St Thomas’ church and the school, and because I now have the time, as well as the desire, to be involved.  I hope that my enthusiasm, combined with my background in education, will help me to be a useful governor to the school.

Mrs Natasha Goold - Parent Governor

Link Governor for Sports Premium

My Name is Natasha Goold, I have been parent governor since February 2020. I have three children here at Christ Church Primary and we began our journey with the school back in September 2019. I work within the NHS and Healthcare sector, with past experience working in both primary and secondary school settings during my time at Liverpool Hope University. I sit on the resources and welfare committee and look forward to representing and contributing to the support of the schools community and continuing successes.
