Summer Term
For the first few weeks of the half term, our learning will focus on revision of the key topics ahead of the SATs tests on 11th May. We will use SATs Bootcamp as well as other games and strategies to overlearn and revise.
We have a few WWII lessons remaining to complete this term as part of our Topic, and we will be holding a WWII themed day. Children are welcome to come dressed as evacuees or in other WWII inspired costumes and will take part in activities.
Our new topic will be 'Rivers'. We will look at how rivers are formed and their different features. We will learn about rivers around the world as well as learning how to read an Ordnance Survey map.
In Science, we will be learning about living things and will explore how living things are classified into broad groups according to common characteristics.
RE is a unit based on 'Journeys' it looks at religious pilgrimage but also gives children time to reflect on their own journeys too which is ties in with the transitions that children are making in this next term.
In Spanish we will learn to talk about our day and also about the Spanish tradition of tapas - we will get to try some tapas too!
As well as continuing our work on our Heart Smart topics we will also focus on tranistion work and preparing the children for their journey to high school.
Music will focus on our KS2 Performance.
